The Government Can Just Print Money? …You Don’t Say.

I stumbled across this article, and it really gave me a chuckle at its simplicity and wording.
No Chance of Default, US Can Print Money: Greenspan

“The United States can pay any debt it has because we can always print money to do that. So there is zero probability of default” said Greenspan on NBC’s Meet the Press.

Simple words there, Mr. Greenspan, and you know what? You’re absolutely right. However, I don’t think you mean what your words actually imply.

Yes, the US Government CAN print money.

We could actually print our OWN money, in fact, according to Article I, Section 8 of our Constitution, instead of borrowing it off the world’s banks at absurd amounts of interest.

Fancy that.
